Assemblywoman Irwin Releases Statement on Final State Redistricting Maps and Intention to Run for the New 42nd Assembly District

Thousand Oaks - Assemblywoman Jacqui Irwin (D - Thousand Oaks) released the following statement on the final California Citizens’ Redistricting Commission maps:

“I’m running in the new 42nd Assembly District, and am proud to continue representing the cities of Thousand Oaks, Camarillo, Moorpark, Westlake Village, and parts of Ventura County. I’m excited to meet and work with the residents of Simi Valley, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Agoura Hills, Malibu, Topanga, Pacific Palisades and other parts of L.A. County that are now part of the district.

Although I will only represent Oxnard and Port Hueneme for one more year, I will do my best to continue to advocate and work for those communities as they will remain close to my heart.

There’s a lot of work to be done, and I’m looking forward to meeting those constituents I haven’t previously represented, listening to them, and understanding their needs. Together, we can tackle the challenges facing California and the newly drawn 42nd Assembly District as well and continue our work on improving public safety, education outcomes and job training, and veteran housing. We’ve made great strides, but I know we can do more.”
